Often the middle of February is a fairly stormy time in this part of the country, but this year will be an exception. Saturday will feature afternoon temperatures in the lower and middle 40s under a partly to mostly sunny sky. The warming trend is set to continue on Sunday. An area of low pressure will scoot by to our south and there will be some clouds overhead for a time, but we expect a decrease in clouds during the second half of the day.

There might be some fog late Sunday night into Monday morning; otherwise, a pleasant President's Day is on tap. Temperatures will approach 50 degrees Monday and will likely exceed that mark on Tuesday.

The stretch of precipitation-free weather may come to an end during the middle of the work week. A fairly weak weather system could trigger a few rain showers late Tuesday night into parts of Wednesday. We also think a couple of showers may be around into Thursday and Friday. Despite the clouds and chances for rain, it will stay pretty mild through the tail end of the week.
