Boardman trustees meet to discuss township administrator role

Boardman Township trustees held a special meeting Saturday morning to discuss potential replacement options for township administrator Jason Loree.
Loree announced in December 2025 that he would be stepping down from his role in the township in order to focus on his health, as he battles autosomal dominant polycystic disease, a genetic disorder where cysts form on the kidneys.
Loree was diagnosed at 25 years old and the 42-year-old has since gone through open heart surgery, caused by complications from the disease, with his kidneys working at just twenty percent.
He has not yet officially resigned but Boardman Township trustees say they are discussing the employment of an administrator to fill Loree's role when necessary.
Township Trustee Steve Yacovone told 21 News that they are currently in the screening process for the position. He added that the trustees will soon be interviewing candidates for the role of township administrator.
