Sherrod Brown receives U.S. Senate endorsement from Ohio AFL-CIO

The Ohio AFL-CIO labor union has endorsed former state Senator Sherrod Brown for U.S. Senate.
In a Monday press release, Brown said that receiving the endorsement is an honor, and that he has proudly spent his career advocating for Ohio workers. Ohio AFL-CIO President, Tim Burga, said he is proud to endorse Brown for the U.S. Senate, and that Brown has shown up for Ohioans regardless of what part of the state they live in.
"Whether fighting for good jobs that expand the working middle class, securing earned retirement benefits, or taking on powerful special interests, Sherrod has consistently delivered for working families," Burga said.
Brown has worked with the AFL-CIO before, and says he fought for the pensions of over 100,000 Ohioans.
"Now more than ever, we need a senator who will put the interests of working people first," Brown said. "I will continue to uplift the voices of Ohioans and ensure our unions have a seat at the decision making table."
Burga believes Brown will make the affordability crisis his number one priority.
"Ohioans deserve a senator who will fight every day for a worker-first agenda. Not one who caters to the interests of billionaires," Burga said.
