WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has proposed the removal and replacement of a deteriorated sidewalk in Weathersfield Township.

The project involves about 1,636 feet of concrete sidewalk along the east and west sides of State Route 46 from Stewart Street to Seaborn Street.

In addition to the sidewalk replacement, the project calls for the installation of flashing red beacons at the existing pedestrian crossing at the intersection of SR-46 and Stewart Street.

The project also calls for driveway apron reconstruction, new ADA-compliant concrete curb ramps, traffic signal replacements and new stop lines and crosswalk lines.

The project will cost $370,400, and construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2026.

During construction, traffic will continue to flow in both directions with no road closures or detours necessary. Lane restrictions will not be permitted outside of normal working hours.

Vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained to all residential and commercial properties except when a driveway must be closed for construction. In those instances, residents and property owners will be notified and efforts will be made to accommodate affected residents.

ODOT is currently seeking public comments on this proposed project. Any questions, comments or concerns can be directed to Sean Carpenter at 330-786-2274 or Sean.Carpenter@dot.ohio.gov.

Comments received by March 20 will be considered during the project's development. All comments made after that will still receive a reply.
