Youngstown State University (YSU) will be hosting "Guinathon", an event aimed at highlighting and benefiting the work done at Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the YSU Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center on campus.

This year, Guinathon will feature raffle baskets, silent auctions, food, games, and performances from TJDUB and Gabbie Hanna.

Tickets for any of the games at the event are $1. Money gathered during the event aims to benefit Akron Children's Hospital's programs and equipment, along with recognizing the patients who have been helped by the hospital.

In addition to the festivities listed above, Dance Marathon, a movement of Children's Miracle Network, will pair the event with its tenth annual dance marathon, encouraging students to stay up on their feet to raise money and raise awareness for the hospital.

More information on the "Guinathon Miracle Families" can be found on the Guinathon website.
