PennDOT implements vehicle restriction for Sunday

Pennsylvania - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is implementing a vehicle restriction on several roadways across the state.
The ban begins Sunday, February 22, at 3:00 p.m.
Restricted vehicles include motorcycles, school and commercial buses, motor coaches, recreational vehicles or motorhomes, passenger vehicles with towing trailers, and tractors without trailers.
Below are the roadways that include the vehicle restriction:
- I-76 entire length
- I-78 entire length
- I-80 from I-81 to New Jersey
- I-81 entire length
- I-83 entire length
- I-84 entire length
- I-95 entire length
- I-283 entire length
- I-295 entire length
- I-380 entire length
- I-476 entire length
- I-676 entire length
- Route 33 entire length
- U.S. 22 from I-78 to New Jersey
- PA Turnpike I-76 from Carlisle (Exit 226) to PA Turnpike I-276
- PA Turnpike I-276 entire length
- PA Turnpike Northeast Extension I-476 entire length
PennDOT warns drivers that speed limits may be lessened to 45 miles per hour as Sunday nears.
There is no exact time when the restriction will end. A release states that once winter weather permits, it will be lifted.
PennDOT is encouraging drivers to travel safely by slowing down, staying alert, and always having an emergency kit handy.
