The final week of February (and Meteorological Winter) is here, and colder air and more winter will greet us throughout the course of the week.

Light snow showers will taper to scattered flurries throughout Monday afternoon as high temperatures barely make it to the 30s degree mark. Flurries will taper off in the evening, but may continue to fall for communities north of Interstate 80.

Tuesday will feature more clouds than sunshine with high temperatures remaining colder in the upper 20s to low 30s. Our next batch of snow will come from a clipper system overnight into Wednesday morning.

A clipper system will bring a brief batch of widespread snow around and just after midnight into Wednesday morning. Light accumulations of an inch or so will be possible. A few flurries will then be possible on Wednesday morning with high temperatures rising only to the upper 30s.

Our next impactful system could come on Thursday. A system bringing a mixed bag of precipitation will work through the region Wednesday night into Thursday. We are monitoring the latest trends, but at the moment, a mix of snow, rain, and mixed precipitation will remain possible throughout the day locally.

This weekend is trending mild to start with high temperatures trending in the low 50s on Saturday, but a big temperature drop is possible on Sunday with high temperatures in the low 30s. High temperatures are trending colder than average for the first handful of days of March.
