COLUMBIANA, Ohio - Three robotics teams with the Columbiana Exempted Village School District have punched their ticket to the State Championship.

In its elementary school, the 'Birb Gang' qualified for the championship after winning the Design Award. Additionally, 'The Purple Pringles' are being invited to attend the championship for earning a high Driving & Autonomous score.

In the middle school, 'The Almighty Cheeto Puffs' team earned their spot after taking home the Innovate Award Trophy and achieving 1st place in Teamwork Matches and in Robot Skills at the robotics finals on February 21.

All teams will head to the VEXIQ Ohio State Robotics Championship in Dayton on March 2 and 3.

This is the first time in Columbiana Schools' history that three teams have qualified for the State Championship.
