TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - A man from Trumbull County who was convicted of murder over 20 years ago is asking the court to release him again.

Sixty-eight-year-old Alfonsia "Mickey" Perry was convicted of brutally beating and murdering his girlfiend, 34-year-old Jeanette Purdue, at a home on Rosser Avenue in Hubbard.

Eyewitness accounts from Purdue's children say she was hit by Perry 71 times with wooden bed slats and an ax handle.

In 1994, Perry was convicted of aggravated murder, felonious assault and inciting violence, and was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. He currently resides in the Richland Correctional Institution located in Mansfield, Ohio.

While Perry was awaiting trial, he attacked three correction officers and was called "instantaneously angry and violent."

The parole hearing is scheduled to take place in March. This is the fourth time Perry has sought his freedom since 2007.
