OH Senate Republican Caucus endorses Husted for US Senator

As of Thursday, Senator Jon Husted has earned the endorsement of the Ohio Senate Republican Caucus as election season inches closer.
Ohio Senate President and Lieutenant Governor nominee Rob McColley said in a Thursday statement that he believes Husted will continue "to work effectively across state and federal governments," as Senator.
"His track record of success at every level of public service makes him the right choice to represent Ohio in the U.S. Senate. We are proud to endorse Jon Husted and look forward to continuing our work together to advance our values in Washington," McColley stated.
In response to the endorsement, Husted said he is grateful for the caucus's support and he explained that he remains focused on delivering results for Ohioans.
"Together, we will continue fighting for policies that grow our economy, strengthen our communities for working families, and protect the midwestern values Ohioans believe in," Husted said in a statement.
The individual state senators that have announced their endorsements of Husted include District 33 Senator Al Cutrona who represents Mahoning and Columbiana counties. Over 20 other state senators also noted their support, and official endorsements of Husted:

The primary election will be May 5 but as of the Secretary of State's official certification of candidates on February 24, Husted will not face any opponents on the ballot until the general election. Former Senator Sherrod Brown and first-time candidate Ron Kincaid will be vying for votes on the Democratic ticket during the primary. Jeffrey Kanter and William Redpath, of the Libertarian party, are also running for the open Senator seat.
The general election will be November 3.
