Docket: Settlement reached in fraud suit against Boardman furniture company

YOUNGSTOWN - Court records show that a settlement was reached between the Ohio Attorney General's Office and a Boardman furniture company.
In November of 2025, 21 News reported that a mediation conference was ordered in the fraud lawsuit against furniture company Burke Decor. This conference was set to take place on Thursday, February 26.
However, court records show that the case was settled and dismissed before the conference, but do not show that official settlement paperwork has been filed in court yet.
It is unclear exactly when the settlement was reached or what the terms of the settlement were.
The lawsuit alleged that Burke Decor violated Ohio's Consumer Sales Practices Act, claiming that more than 350 customers reported paying for furniture that never arrived.
The Ohio Attorney General's Office stated that the total estimated losses in this case exceeded $380,000.
The company and its founder, Erin Burke, denied many of the core allegations in the lawsuit, arguing that the company should not be held liable, attributing the issues to a period of unusually high orders and unforeseen issues with changes in its credit card processing environment.
21 News has reached out to the Ohio Attorney General's Office to get more details on the settlement. We are waiting to hear back.
