BOARDMAN - Regal Cinema South in Boardman is under new ownership from a company based in Niles, Ohio.

The Cafaro Company, one of the country's largest privately-owned shopping center development and management companies, purchased the movie theatre for $2.3 million on February 25, 2026.

Joe Bell, the director of corporate corporations with the Cafaro Company, told 21 News that the purchase is part of a much larger deal.

Regal approached the company to inquire about helping them renovate the Regal Boulevard Centre in Niles, and also asked if they would help them by purchasing the Regal Cinema South location in Boardman, said Bell.

Though Cafaro purchased the Regal Cinema South property, the company will be leasing it back to Regal, which will continue operations as normal.

As for the Niles location, Bell said guests can expect some major upgrades to its seating, concessions and more by this summer.

Regal Cinema originally purchased the property back in 1994 for $3.1 million.

Regal Cinema South's movie theatre is located at 7420 South Avenue in Boardman.
