Valley Irish Festival invites public to 'sound check' with live music, festivities

The Mahoning Valley Irish Festival hosted its 2nd Annual "Sound Check" on Sunday at Double Bogey's, combining Irish heritage and hospitality.
Live performances from the Fiddle Chiques, County Mayo Irish Band, Seamus, Archill Crossing and the Burke School of Irish Dance shared the stage at the Double Bogey's in Boardman.
"St. Patrick's season starts pretty much right after Valentine's Day," Tim Crowe, chairperson of the organization, said. "From that point on, it's Irish music and getting ready for the parade, getting ready for the big day."
Outside of music, the event offered Irish vendors, food and drinks.
"The Irish festival promotes Irish community, culture, and connects all the Irish organizations in the area, all for a good cause," Crowe said.
The organization stated that everyone was invited, whether Irish by blood or Irish at heart.
The event proceeds go toward organizations like OH WOW! Science Center and other causes supporting potential development in the area.
