Record warmth possible three times over the next week

A nearly stationary front will continue to impact the weather across eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania on Thursday, as the forecast includes a good chance for a few periods rain. We also can't rule out a rumble of thunder. Despite the clouds and wet weather, temperatures will end up near 20 degrees warmer-than-average by the end of the day. As the sky partially clear overnight, patchy fog will become a possibility into Friday morning.
Friday afternoon should feature the warmest temperatures of 2026 so far. The forecast does include a small chance for an afternoon shower, but most of the day will be rain-free with a mix of sun and clouds.
The warmest weather of the next handful of days will come on Saturday, but a cold front is also on schedule to arrive that day. Readings will get into the 70s prior to the frontal passage and the unseasonably warm air will help to fuel some afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Any storm during the second half of the day could be on the strong side.
A quieter day is on tap for Sunday. While it won't be as warm as the previous couple of days, it will still be quite mild for early March with plenty of afternoon sun. After record-challenging warmth Saturday, more record could fall Tuesday and Wednesday before a big cool down toward the end of next week.
