SHARON - The Mercer County Food Bank and First Baptist Church in Sharon celebrated the expansion of their partnership with their weekend pantry on Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The partnership has helped expand access to those in need by offering a food pantry on the second Saturday of every month.

"The need is great in our community and we are privileged to have our partnership with Mercer County Food Bank to meet those needs," said First Baptist Church Pastor Harley Williams. "Mercer County Food Bank is a valuable resource in allowing us to meet those physical needs of families in our neighborhood."

People have the chance to personalize their selection from shelf-stable items, along with fresh produce and meat when it is available at the pantry.

The pantry is accessible on the second Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. until noon. and is located at 301 W State Street in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
