Horse injured in car crash involving buggy in Wilmington Township

WILMINGTON TWP., Pa. - A horse was injured after a crash involving two vehicles and a horse-drawn buggy in Wilmington Township, Pennsylvania, on Monday morning.
According to a release, the crash occurred just before 7 a.m. on State Route 208, near the intersection of State Route 18 heading westbound.
A vehicle rear-ended the horse-drawn buggy while traveling down the highway. The horse then broke free and was struck by another vehicle at the State Route 208, State Route 18 intersection.
The buggy and the vehicle that struck the horse sustained disabling damage. The vehicle that struck the buggy initially sustained functional damage to its front end.
No people were injured as a result of the crash; however, the horse was injured. The extent of its injuries is unknown.
The driver of the first vehicle was cited for following too closely.
