A mild day Tuesday with active weather returning Wednesday

We will chase down a record high temperature on Tuesday afternoon, the previous daily high temperature was 69 degrees set back in 2021, and afternoon high temperatures will peak in the low 70s across the area. A spotty shower can't be completely rolled out with minimal breaks in the sunshine through sunset.
Clouds will increase overnight into early Wednesday morning, and Wednesday will be our most active day of the week.
There will be two windows for severe weather throughout the day: the first very early in the morning, shortly after sunrise. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible during that time, and any thunderstorm could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Showers and thunderstorms will break up for a handful of hours later in the morning and into the afternoon, then expect showers and thunderstorms to return shortly before sunset. This second round of thunderstorms has the potential to produce gusty winds and even a tornado.
High temperatures on Wednesday will peak in the low 70s, breaking the daily high record for the second straight day, with the current record at 70 degrees. From there, winds will continue to pick up and gust over 35 mph at times Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, and a few flurries will be possible during that timeframe. Temperatures from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning will drop close to, if not over, 40 degrees.
Thursday will turn partly sunny but remain breezy with high temperatures peaking in the low 40s.
Friday will end the week with potentially some morning snowfall transitioning to some afternoon showers with high temperatures peaking in the low 50s. Friday will also be a very windy day with wind gusts, potentially exceeding 45 mph.
This weekend will start seasonably with high temperatures in the low 40s on Saturday with some sunshine, and Sunday will feature a little bit more in the cloud cover department with high temperatures a bit milder in the low to mid 60s. If you were heading out for the Mahoning Valley St. Patrick's Day parade on Sunday, expect temperatures to range from the upper 50s to low 60s, but at the moment, the day is trending dry.
We are expecting there to be a bit of a cool down to kick off the third week of March, with high temperatures in the low 30s and even 20s from Monday to Tuesday.
