PITTSBURGH, Pa - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking public comment on the Allegheny Airport Authority's (ACAA) proposed Pittsburgh International Airport Autonomous Vehicle Shuttle Project.

The shuttle service would provide automated passenger transportation along a dedicated guideway that would connect landside parking facilities, landside amenities and the new landside terminal at the Pittsburgh airport.

ACAA would be responsible for establishing the proposed Autonomous Vehicle shuttle system and its corresponding civil infrastructure.

PennDOT and the ACAA have developed a project analysis that includes the anticipated location of the project, type of transportation facility and service, estimated costs, potential social, economic and environmental impacts, and more.

Comments can be made starting Sunday, March 15, until Tuesday, April 14, 2026, by submitting an online form here, by emailing ra-pdpitenhancements@pa.gov, or by mailing feedback to the PennDOT P3 Office located at 400 North Street, 6th Floor, Harrisburg, PA, 17120.

According to a release, Pennsylvania's P3 law requires PennDOT to make the project analysis available for the public to see and comment on in advance before the P3 Board considers it.

All comments will be collected, summarized and considered before any action is taken by the P3 Board.
