Mahoning & Trumbull County - Several fire departments around the Mahoning Valley are getting a financial boost through Equipment and Training Reimbursement Grants.

The grants will help provide critical resources for both volunteer and career or part-time fire departments to obtain equipment, strengthen training opportunities and enhance operational readiness to keep their communities safe.

The Equipment Grant program funds will be used to purchase protective turnout gear, rescue tools and other life-saving items that support firefighter safety and emergency response capabilities.

A list of recipients of the Equipment Grant can be found below:

Mahoning County - Green Township Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000
                               - Struthers Fire Department - $4,096

Trumbull County - Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000
                             - Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department - $14,732
                             - McDonald Fire Department - $13,190
                             - Brookfield Township Fire Department - $15,000
                             - Cortland Fire Department - $14,650
                             - Farmington TWP Volunteer Fire Department - $14,980
                             - Southington Volunteer Fire Department - $14,249

The Training Reimbursement Grant helps offset the cost of training and certification courses for firefighters, allowing departments to maintain their professional standards without budgetary strain.

Columbiana County - Calcutta Fire Department - $1,468
                                   - East Palestine Fire Department - $4,800
                                   - Franklin TWP Volunteer Fire Department - $715
                                   - Liverpool Township Fire Department - $1,200
                                   - Middleton Township Fire and EMS Department - $850
