WARREN - Trooper Nickolas Goodnite with the Canton Post was recently promoted to sergeant and was recognized at the Patrol's Training Academy ceremony.

Sergeant Goodnite is serving as the assistant post commander at the Warren Post, previously transferring from his assignment at the Canton Post.

He graduated from Lake Erie College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in law.

Sergeant Goodnite started his Patrol career in May 2007. Since then, he has served in many places, including the Ashland and Cambridge posts, the Training Academy, the Cleveland District Commercial Enforcement and the Criminal Patrol Unit.

Seargant Goodnite earned the Criminal Patrol Award twice as well as the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement four times.
