A Campbell man has been found guilty of felony charges of gross sexual imposition in a case involving a juvenile, according to a news release from the Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office.

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, a jury found Thomas Steele, 50, guilty on all counts following a three-day trial.

Steele was found guilty of three counts of gross sexual imposition (F3) and one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles (F4).

Charges stem from an incident that happened in July 2023, when a juvenile told a parent about inappropriate conduct that had taken place several years beforehand.

Steele had touched the victim inappropriately and had shown them pornographic videos. After the victim came forward, a report was made with the Campbell Police Department.

The police department conducted an investigation that eventually led to Steele's arrest and indictment.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutors Melissa Dinsio and Daniel Yozwiak.

Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro, within the release, credits the work of the Campbell Police Department and both assistant prosecutors in bringing the case to court and securing the successful prosecution.

Court records indicate that Steele will be sentenced on March 26 at 8:30 a.m.
