The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is urging drivers to use caution when traveling along roadways this weekend.

Crews are actively working to clear roads that were impacted by high gusts of wind on Friday and early Saturday. Some may have downed trees, wires and other debris that drivers should be on the lookout for.

PennDOT cautions drivers to:

  • Reduce speed and remain alert for debris on the roadway
  • Avoid driving through areas where trees, limbs, or wires are down
  • Allow extra time for travel
  • Never approach or drive over downed utility lines

PennDOT also warns drivers that there may be potential lane restrictions, road closures and changing roadway conditions as crews complete clearing debris from the roads.
