COLUMBIANA CITY - An ice cream shop in Columbiana is temporarily closed following an hours-long power outage over the weekend.
According to a post on Lovie's Ice Cream's Facebook page, a tree across the street from the shop fell on power lines, which cut power to the shop around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, March 13.
Power remained out for nearly eight hours, only getting restored around 12:21 a.m. on Saturday.
Due to the power outage, the shop lost all of its refrigerated and frozen products. The shop is closed until it can replenish its supply. No timeframe was provided for when the shop might reopen.
In the meantime, Lovie's encourages patrons to support other local ice cream shops while they wait for Lovie's to reopen.
