Youngstown Police Lieutenant dies after 32 years of service
Lieutenant Welsh has served the city as a full-time officer since October of 1994. He also served with the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office from 1992 to 2002.

YOUNGSTOWN - A Lieutenant with the Youngstown Police Department has died after serving the city for 32 years.
According to a post on the Youngstown Police Department's Facebook Page, Lieutenant Brian Welsh has died as of Saturday, March 14.
According to officer records from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA), Welsh has served the city as a full-time officer since October of 1994. He also served with the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office from 1992 to 2002.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with [Welsh's] family, friends and fellow officers. Rest easy, Lieutenant. Your service will not be forgotten," YPD's post reads.
