The City of Niles will begin an emergency branch and tree limb pickup on Monday, March 16, 2026, until March 23 for all residents who experienced tree damage during the weekend windstorms on Saturday and Sunday.

Residents are encouraged to call the Director of Public Service Office at 330-544-9000, extension 1103, to schedule a collection.

The following rules and guidelines were shared in a new release:

  • Collection will only be done at a residential property
  • Limbs and branches should be at least four feet in length with a maximum height of eight feet in length. Branches cannot have a diameter over six inches
  • Branches with specifications less than those listed above can be bundled and disposed of during regular curbside trash pickup
  • Items for collection should be placed within three feet of the curb line or driveway
  • Cut or broken ends of the collection piles should face the street
  • Roots, shrubs, vines, honeysuckle, firewood, board or lumber will not be collected
  • Branches and limbs should not be piled near mailboxes, hydrants or parked cars

The emergency collection was issued through a city ordinance and by the order of the Niles mayor.
