WARREN - Several defendants in a human trafficking case in Trumbull County were sentenced on Tuesday afternoon.

Eight out of 12 defendants indicted in connection with a human trafficking investigation involving two massage parlors in the Warren area were scheduled to appear for sentencing Tuesday.

Some of those defendants were sentenced; however, two were unable to appear in court. As a result, they will appear for their sentencing at a later date.

Those defendants include:

- Charles McGill for one count of attempted compelling prostitution, two counts of attempted money laundering, three counts of promoting prostitution and two counts of obstructing justice. McGill was sentenced to three years' probation and was fined $35,000.

- Chang Hwang was indicted for two counts of possessing criminal tools. Hwang's sentencing date was rescheduled to Thursday, April 9.

- Tae Suk Hwang for three counts of attempted promoting prostitution, one count of engaging prostitution, three counts of possessing criminal tools, one count of attempted money laundering and one count of obstructing justice. Suk Hwang was sentenced to three years' probation and must pay a $31,000 fine.

- Young Sug Kim for one count of possessing criminal tools, one count of obstructing justice and one count of attempted obstructing justice. Sug Kim was sentenced to three years' probation and was fined $17,500.

- Dong Meliodong was indicted for two counts of attempted promoting prostitution, one count of attempted money laundering and five counts of possessing criminal tools. Meliodon's sentencing date was rescheduled to Thursday, April 9.

- Sunny Oh for five counts of possessing criminal tools, one count of money laundering and one count of attempted obstruction of justice. Oh was sentenced to three years' probation and must pay a $27,500 fine.

- Miock Dong Schaffer for one count of promoting prostitution, three counts of possessing criminal tools and one count of attempted money laundering. Schaffer was sentenced to thee years' probation and must pay a $17,500 fine.

- Young Hee Yoon for two counts of promoting prostitution, two counts of promoting prostitution, one count of possessing criminal tools and four counts of attempted money laundering. Hee Yoon was sentenced to three years' probation and fined $37,500.

All eight defendants were charged after undercover officers went into the Sunny Spa and Tiger Spa in Warren and were offered sexual favors for money. Officers would say they could not accept the offers due to a medical condition.
