LORDSTOWN, Ohio - A 10-year tax abatement has ended for Matalco Inc., a manufacturing company that recycles scrap metal and produces aluminum billets and slabs.
Lordstown Mayor Jackie Woodward said for the past decade, the company has been paying 25% of its property taxes because of the previously approved 75% exemption.
As a result of the abatement's conclusion, Matalco must pay 100% property tax for its location on 5120 Tod Avenue in Lordstown.
The Trumbull County auditor will be modifying its tax records to reflect this change.
