Not as harsh Wednesday; even milder Thursday-Saturday

St. Patrick's Day had a very January-like feel across our part of the country. Temperatures were near 20 degrees below the seasonal average Tuesday, and wind chill values were mired in the single digits and teens throughout the day. We also had to contend with more flurries and snow showers. Thankfully, better things are ahead for the second half of the work week.
While Wednesday will start on a very cold note, the afternoon will not be as harsh with temperatures climbing above the freezing mark and less wind than the previous couple of days. An advancing warm front might trigger a couple of snow flurries Wednesday night. Some late-day rain showers will be a possibility Thursday, with readings topping out near 50 degrees.
Fog may set up for the start of the day Friday, but overall it will be a fairly mild day with some sun. The forecast does include a good chance for some rain showers by the end of the day. The best day of the forecast is Saturday. Even though patchy fog will be possible early on, the day will be mild and dry with a good deal of afternoon sun. Sunday will also be balmy, but with a chance for rain before the day is though.
A brief shot of cooler air is likely to invade by the start of next week.
