A late-week warm up, but Friday will turn soggy

Temperatures stayed on the cold side Wednesday, with readings falling shy of the seasonal average by about 15 degrees. However, the January-like air is not going to stick around for much longer. A warm front will lift through the region overnight, which will ensure that Thursday morning will be less harsh than the last couple of mornings. Highs on Thursday will be much more typical of mid-March; some locations may touch the 50 degree mark.
Friday will be even warmer, but an advancing weather system is likely to spread showers into eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania during the second half of the day. A rumble of thunder also cannot be ruled out. We expect the showers to be gone by mid-evening. There could be some fog Friday night and early Saturday.
Aside from some localized reductions in visibility early, Saturday will turn into a fine day with fair amount of sunshine and afternoon temperatures in the 60s. Sunday may be even warmer, but the next front can bring some showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. After the passage of a cold front, Monday will be a chilly day.
We anticipate a decent temperature recovery during the middle of next week.
