CANFIELD, Ohio - Boy Scout Troop 3 of the Whispering Pines District is like no other in Northeast Ohio and Sunday it was honored for a milestone anniversary.

Members of Troop 3 suffer from mental and physical disabilities and almost all of them have earned their Eagle Scout status.

On Sunday, the men received recognition for 45 years of scouting at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church in Canfield.

Most of the men are Eagle Scouts, who earned their merits as every boy scout is required to do.

One troop mom says this Scout Sunday is a special moment for her son.

"He saw his brothers go through early scouting and he would always go and try to mimic what they did, so now it's his achievement," Suzanne Macias said.

Troop 3 scouts can stay with the troop as long as they like. The range in age from their 20s to their 50s.
