SOUTHINGTON, Ohio - A Trumbull County mansion that once belonged to former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson will become a religious sanctuary.
The person who purchased the Southington property along state route 534 in a sheriff's sale for $600,000 is donating the home and the 58 acres it sits on to the Living Word Sanctuary.
The non profit corporation expects to turn the property into a place for year round religious services which will include youth ministry and vacation bible school.
The home itself is 24,000 square feet, with eight bathrooms and a pool. In 1999 the asking price was $2 million.
