CANFIELD, Ohio - The new indoor athletic complex at Canfield High School was officially dedicated on Saturday.

The James and Coralie Centofanti Sports Complex is an 80 foot. by 48 foot indoor practice area, that boasts turf, batting cages, nets, movable pitching mounds, a concessions stand, and an observation deck.

Donations from several community organizations helped to completely pay off the new facility.

The James and Coralie Centofanti Community Foundation pitched in $50,000 to make the center possible, however plenty of others made donations as well.

Mark Luchansky, the Chairman of the project say it will be just another thing to set Canfield schools apart and inspire the district.

"Well I think what it does, it propels Canfield High School to the next level. I mean all the other school districts in the area now are going to, we've set the bar. If they want to compete against Canfield High School they're going to have to step up," said Luchansky.

Luchansky said the idea for the center came about in 2013 after the baseball team competed a a conference tournament and suffered because they hadn't been able to practice.

He said the athletic complex will help students practice no matter what the Ohio weather has in store.

The baseball team hopes the batting cages, movable pitching mounds, and cage nets will help them prepare for the upcoming spring season.
