YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Ohio Governor John Kasich held his second town hall meeting in two days in the Mahoning Valley on Monday.

Between 200 and 300 people showed up at Brilex Industries in Youngstown to hear Governor Kasich state his case for their vote.

Kasich says the priority for every candidate is jobs.

At the same time, he says there needs to be what he calls common sense regulations in order for businesses to grow and create jobs.

"We cannot put silly regulations or excessive regulations on small businesses and crush them," Kasich said.

The Governor also acknowledged the battle going on over the control and future of Youngstown schools.

"These Youngstown schools must be fixed, and it's going to take a major effort and major work," said Kasich.

Youngstown city schools are scheduled to be run by a CEO, but the change has been delayed by a lawsuit over the make-up of a new school commission.

Kasich, who has been blasted by teacher unions and public educators for the growth of charter schools under his administration, says he still supports the expansion of charter schools because choice and competition are good.

Some of the people attending the event say they believe Kasich has the right credentials.

"His decency and his experience, and he can do it, so I think he's a good candidate," Sandra Schrode of Austintown said.

"It just comes out that he can go there and make a difference for us," said Kathy Creed of Liberty.

The crowd also included a number of young people, like Paige Loychik of Warren, who said, "He's a breath of fresh air. I like the way he runs his campaign, he runs a positive campaign."

Kasich told the crowd that he won't stoop to the level of mudslinging and personal attacks.

"I won't take the low road to the highest office in the land," Kasich said.

Ohio is a winner-take-all primary and Kasich says he if doesn't win his home state that he will suspend his campaign.

The latest polls on Monday showed Kasich six points ahead of Donald Trump in Ohio.
