PINE TWP., Mercer Co., Pa. - People driving along a busy Mercer County highway Tuesday night may have been surprised to find a sobriety checkpoint along their route. Four of those drivers were arrested.

The Pennsylvania State Police conducted the OVI checkpoint from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 3 a.m. Wednesday on State Route 208 at North Liberty Road in Pine Township.

Police say out of the 76 cars and trucks they stopped, four DUI arrests were made.

Twenty-three traffic citations and 12 warnings were issued to drivers.

Troopers announced on Monday that they would be conducting the checkpoint somewhere in the county, but didn't announce where.
