A former executive who worked for a Warren manufacturing company for 38 years is going to prison for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from that company.

Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Wyatt McKay on Wednesday sentenced Paul Theisler, Jr. to two years in prison.

The 66-year-old Canfield resident was indicted last year on a charge of aggravated theft after prosecutors said he stole $1.5 million from Warren Fabricating and Machining when he served as the company's Chief Financial Officer.

In June Theisler pleaded guilty to an amended indictment of aggravated theft.

Although operators of the family-owned business believed at the time that the theft amounted to $2 million, Theisler has been ordered to reimburse the company $400,000.

According to a statement issued by Warren Fabricating, the charges against the 65-year-old Canfield man stems from an internal investigation that began a few months after financial irregularities were discovered.

The company has locations on Mahoning Avenue in Warren Township and Chestnut Ridge Road in Hubbard.
