COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A Columbus man is dead after a crash involving another car and a semi-tractor trailer.
Columbus police report that 43-year-old Charles Tynes, of Northridge Road, was alone in his Buick heading east on State Route 161 just west of New Albany at around 6:30 a.m. Friday when the accident occurred.
Officials say Tynes' vehicle and that of another eastbound driver, 31-year-old Joel Rosell, of Columbus, collided. The collision caused both drivers to lose control. Their vehicles spun out of control, across a grass median and into the roadway's westbound lanes, where Tynes' car was struck by an oncoming tractor-trailer.
Tynes was pronounced dead at the scene. Rosell was treated at a nearby hospital.
The driver of the truck, 51-year-old James Hayes, of Newark, was not transported.
