KENT, Ohio - Former Mahoning County Assistant Prosecutor, now a judge in Portage County, faces a Friday court hearing after being cited for OVI following a crash.
Common Pleas Court Judge Rebecca Doherty was ticketed shortly before midnight Sunday after police say the SUV she was driving was involved in a non-injury accident on State Route 43 in Brimfield Township.
According to the ticket and Kent Municipal Court records, Doherty refused to undergo a blood alcohol test. As a result, her driver's license has automatically been suspended.
Doherty worked in as an assistant prosecutor in the Mahoning County Prosecutor's office for five years, until she won election to Portage County Common Pleas Court in 2014.
