BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - Police say a man accused of shoplifting from the Boardman Walmart was caught while a sanitation worker was taking out the trash.

According to police 32-year-old, Nathaniel Britt was found hiding in a dumpster after stealing vitamins from Walmart.

A police report says Britt was spotted inside the store by employees who allegedly noticed him taking vitamins.

The report says store employees told Britt to stop, but that he took off running through the parking lot.

Police say they found a car blocking the rear lot of the store with footprints leading away from it, but none coming back.

At that point, officers got a call from an employee of Allied Waste, who said that he was emptying a dumpster near Panera Bread when Britt jumped out.

Police say they saw Britt run from the Panera Bread, across South Avenue and into the Big Lots parking lot.

Officers say they caught Britt who was crying and bleeding from his head.

The report says Britt told investigators that he hit his head when he fell from the dumpster into the garbage truck.

Britt also allegedly told police that he was "scared because he stole from Walmart, and hid in the dumpster."

The report also says Britt told officers that his car had been parked near the Walmart, but broke down as he was trying to leave.

According to the report, Britt was taken to the hospital for treatment for the cut to his head. He has not yet been booked into the Mahoning County Jail.

Britt reportedly has several warrants out for his arrest from other communities.
