YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - One of the men indicted in the 2017 shooting death of an amateur boxer on the city's west side has been sentenced.

Jesse Stewart, Jr., 21, was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison.

Stewart pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and a weapons violation in connection with the October 2017 fatal shooting of 22-year-old Evan Amos.

Stewart and 20-year-old James Perry were indicted Thursday initially on charges of aggravated murder, murder, and aggravated robbery.

Perry pleaded guilty earlier to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and a weapons violation back in March.

A sentencing date for Perry has yet to be scheduled.

Amos, an amateur boxer who trained in Youngstown, was shot several times during a robbery inside a house on South Lakeview Avenue.

A witness told police someone knocked on the door and shot the man when he answered it.
