Erin M. Bishop, Health Commissioner of the City of Youngstown, announced the closures in efforts to, "avoid the imminent threat with a high probability of widespread exposure to COVID-19 with a significant risk of substantial harm to a large number of people in the general population, including the elderly and people with weakened immune systems and chronic medical conditions."
The release states employees who can perform their job duties remotely will be instructed to do so by their department head. Employees are encouraged to monitor their email and the City of Youngstown's public website at www.youngstownohio.gov.
This comes as the same measures were taken at Youngstown City Hall on Wednesday.
