Warren man convicted of injuring 8-day-old child

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man arrested for injuring an eight-day-old infant is waiting to learn his sentence after pleading guilty to child endangering.
Andrew Jacobs, 27, entered the plea to the two counts on Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. Two counts of felonious assault were dropped.
Jacobs was arrested in September after Warren police say he severely injured his girlfriend’s baby at their Willard Avenue home.
Police say the child was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital for treatment of a broken clavicle, severe head trauma, and brain bleed.
The indictment alleges that the infant was assaulted two days in a row before being taken for medical treatment.
The child’s mother, 27-year-old Kathleen Long, also awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to child endangering last month.
