STRUTHERS, Ohio - The Struthers PTA president is accused of stealing more than $32,000 from the organization's account.

Jessica Hallquist faces a felony charge after Struthers Law Director John Zomoida said she allegedly stole $32,664.20 from February 2018 to August of 2020.

He said Hallquist has paid back a portion but is not sure how much.

He said she is expected to repay the entire amount in the near future and has been cooperating.

Hallquist was discovered after Zomoida said the superintendent of the Struthers School District contacted the police chief about the irregularities.

The superintendent called the chief after a secretary came across the account statement and noticed transactions that occurred when school was out due to the pandemic.

Zomoida said if Hallquist pays the full amount back in a reasonable time, they could potentially resolve the case.

She is set to appear in court later this week.
