More than 25,000 National Guard personnel in D.C. for inauguration
Hokanson assured that the National Guard is prepared for the inauguration with more than 25,000 National Guardsmen and women from all states and territories.

WASHINGTON - Congressman Tim Ryan has received a security briefing for Wednesday's inauguration.
Ryan held a bipartisan security briefing Monday with General David R. Hokanson, Chief of the U.S. National Guard Bureau.
Hokanson assured that the National Guard is prepared for the inauguration with more than 25,000 National Guardsmen and women from all states and territories.
Certain National Guardmembers are armed but are trained to de-escalate tense situation and anticipate a peaceful transition of power.
"These Guardsmen and women have left their homes and families to stand guard and protect our democracy. We will forever be indebted to them for their service," said Rep. Tim Ryan, Co-Chair of the National Guard and Reserve Caucus.
