Two people are dead after a crash following a high-speed chase on the Ohio Turnpike.

The chase started at 8:27 a.m. on Interstate 80 westbound near mile marker 214 in Trumbull County.

According to the release, a 2010 BMW 528 was going 94 miles per hour when state troopers attempted a traffic stop.

The driver fled from troopers, starting a chase that exceeded 100 miles per hour.

Troopers began chasing the vehicle for a second time after it passed through a work zone before they exited the highway onto State Route 8.

The BMW then turned on to Boston Mills Road in Summit County where troopers ended the chase due to the curves in the road and the high speeds.

State Troopers found the BMW crashed on Boston Mills Road shortly after cutting off the pursuit. The car struck a guardrail and rolled over into an embankment.

Four people were in the car at the time. One male and one female were pronounced dead at the scene while another male and female were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers say multiple items were thrown from the car during the chase and they are searching the area for those items.

The BMW involved in the chase was wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred in Pennsylvania.

The crash victims have not yet been identified and the incident is under investigation.
