Vigil held for Utopia shooting victim

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Nearly three days after the shooting at Utopia Nightclub that took the life of 27-year-old Charles Allen, dozens gathered in Downtown Youngstown Monday evening to celebrate his legacy.
His mother, recalling the worst moments of her life early Saturday morning.
"Me being a mother, receiving that call that my son got shot," explained Aleesha Bell, the mother of Charles Allen. "I flew up there. When I got to Utopia, I went up under the crime scene tape and I started yelling for my son. I was screaming his name and he turned and looked at me. When I saw them doing chest compressions on my son, I knew it wasn't going to be good."
As more community members gathered Monday, the sound of music could be heard in the background. Bell said music was Allen's passion in life, along with the love for his children.
"The one thing he loved was his kids," Bell said. "He did it all for his kids."
Bell said she is grateful she was able to have 27 years with her son and want's justice to be served.
"I want them to pay for what they did to my son," Bell said.
Youngstown Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
