Warren fire victim flown to Cleveland hospital
A Warren man has been flown to a Cleveland hospital after firefighters found him inside his burning home.
Fire Chief Ken Nussle tells 21 News that preliminary information from the state fire marshal indicates that careless smoking may be to blame for the fire at a home on the 1100 block of Harrison St. NE.
A neighbor spotted flames in a home shortly before 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Firefighters, who reported heavy smoke coming from the home, found a 64-year-old man on the second floor.
EMT’s administered CPR, before the victim before he was taken to Mercy Hospital in Youngstown and subsequently taken by helicopter to a Cleveland hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
Investigators found burned clothing and a blanket on the couch where the fire started.
