YOUNGSTOWN - A suspension of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 Vaccines recommended by the CDC and FDA has prompted the cancellation of three inoculation clinics in Youngstown.

The government agencies on Tuesday issued a joint statement announcing they have suspended use of the J&J vaccines and recommended that local health agencies do the same while they investigate a possible link between the vaccine in women.

Erin Bishop of the Youngstown Health Department told 21 News that her department was about to administer J&J doses at Youngstown State University on Tuesday, and at the Covelli Centre on Wednesday.

Both clinics have now been canceled, as well as a clinic that had been set for April 22 at the Covelli Centre and next Tuesday's vaccines at YSU.

The Youngstown City Health District says there are open appointments for 2 Moderna vaccination clinics posted on the website for Tuesday, April 20th and Wednesday, April 21st. These clinics will be held at Congregation Rodef Sholom 1119 Elm Street. Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
