WOLF CREEK TWP., Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police pulled over a California registered car hauler in Mercer County Tuesday afternoon. Inside, they a massive amount of the deadly opioid fentanyl.

After stopping the vehicle on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township, officers say the commercial driver gave them consent to search the inside of the vehicle.

During their search, reports say the vehicle was found to have hidden aftermarket compartments.

Upon opening these compartments, police say they found over 22 pounds of fentanyl.

The street value of this amount of the drug totals over $1.8 million, according to a police report.

Fentanyl often results in overdoses, as it is 80-100 times stronger than morphine according to the DEA.

The DEA also says that just 2 milligrams of fentanyl is enough to be lethal. According to their website, one kilogram of the drug is enough to kill 500,000 people.

The police report redacted the names of two people arrested during the investigation.
