BOARDMAN, Ohio - Window World and the Moran family rewarded Akron Children's Hospital's Beeghly campus with a $250,000 gift Wednesday, August 4, for the completion of the emergency department expansion project.

Window World owners Fred, Lucy, Pat, and Angie Moran presented Senior Director of Akron Children's Hospital Foundation, John A. LaGuardia, with the gift in the Window World showroom. Fred Moran says he and his family are excited to support this expansion.

"We have a special place in our hearts for kids and their well-being, which makes this gift so special to us," Fred said.

Vice President of Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley, Paul Oliver, says he is grateful for the donation.

"Our emergency department's growth is an exciting opportunity to provide space that accommodates the needs of our patients and their families. It's an ongoing investment in our community that began in 2008, and we are honored to include the Morans among our supporters," Oliver said.

The expansion of the emergency department will include additional treatment space with 23 treatment rooms designed with input from family and staff. Construction on the project begins this fall and should be completed by 2023.
