Crestview students find ways to hold Homecoming during pandemic
Amid continuing pandemic restrictions, a Columbiana County school district has found a way to continue a long-time tradition.
After being canceled last year because of state-imposed health precautions, Crestview Local School District officials say there will be dancing during this weekend’s homecoming festivities.
A letter from the district to families lays out plans for Friday night’s Homecoming game, as well as the crowning of the king and queen during halftime.
Although Crestview is under a self-imposed temporary mask mandate, students have elected to hold the Homecoming dance outside so attendees don’t have to mask up.
Decorating for the dance will begin Friday and continue Saturday at the Performing Arts Center parking lot. Gravel will be swept, and tents and heaters will be installed for Friday’s dance which is themed “Glow in the Dark”
